Daphnia sp. magna are rapidly gaining popularity among freshwater aquarists due to their dense nutritional profile, ease of care, and ability to thrive in freshwater environments.
Cultures of Daphnia magna at AQUABYTES are fed live greenwater and gut-loaded to enhance their nutritional value before being used as fish feed. The greenwater provides essential nutrients that are absorbed by the daphnia and passed on to the fish, while gut-loading further enriches them with vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids for a more balanced diet. As a result, Daphnia magna has become an excellent alternative to brine shrimp, which only survive for a few hours in freshwater.

AQUABYTES only ships items domestically across Australia. Delivery of products will be sent out on Monday & Tuesday morning.
Order Cut-Off Times:
- Sunday 7pm (AEST) → Delivery on Monday
- Monday 7pm (AEST) → Delivery on Tuesday
Domestic Shipping (Australia): All Orders via Express Post (1–4 Business Days) with tracking ID.
IMPORTANT: Due to state restrictions, we do not ship live goods to NT and TAS. For WA orders, please contact us before placing an order- as restrictions, permits and inspection fees may apply.
Please note that delivery times are estimates according to Australia Post, delays beyond our control can occur.
Live goods
In the event of extreme heat or weather events between origin and destination, we may contact you to hold the order until the weather is suitable for shipping. Upon request we may send the order despite bad conditions, but this will void our DOA Policy. In events where extreme events happen despite our best efforts, DOA policy is still valid to claim.
It is recommended to have someone present at home or to send it to your work address to receive and check the live animals sooner.
PO Boxes are not suitable for receiving live animals, and cannot be covered by DOA policy.
Before purchase of Live Goods, take time to familiarise yourself with the DOA Policy and read the care guides to allow for an easier culture setup.
