Vinegar Eel Culture - TUBATRIX ACETI

Vinegar eels (Tubatrix aceti) are regarded as being the easiest live foods to keep in the fishkeeping hobby due to the set and forget nature of its maintenance. To begin a culture, all you need is a starter culture, apple cider vinegar, dechlorinated tap water, empty container (e.g. plastic drink bottle), cotton wool and apples. Typically after setting up a culture, it can go many months without maintenance as the vinegar eels feed off of the fermenting bacteria. 

Vinegar eels grow to a total length of 2mm, making it ideal for nano fish and fish fry. It is popular amongst fish breeders as it serves to be a stepping stone to daphnia and brine shrimp.
