AQUABYTES Freshwater Calanoida Copepods are active free-swimming copepods that are highly nutritious and popular aquatic live food, particularly for young fish and fish fry as a freshwater substitute to baby brine shrimp. 

AQUABYTES Freshwater Calanoida Copepods consume phytoplankton , as well as detritus, bacteria, and algae, making them useful for cleaning up tanks. 

Adding AQUABYTES freshwater copepods in an aquarium with gravel and lots of surface area, can allow copepods to quickly breed and provide a constant food supply for your fish. Freshwater copepods can be almost a complete source of essential nutrients as they are extremely high in protein, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, contain colour enchancing carotenoids and rich in vitamins (Vit A, Vit B12, Vit D) and minerals.

All our copepods are raised in closed indoor systems (greatly minimises pests) and fed on natural algae and live microorganisms. 

AQUABYTES copepod cultures will comprise of mixed sizes containing adult and newly-hatched individuals from the order.

Essential addition to your planted tank!

Great addition to any planted freshwater aquarium, i notice these serve as great live food but also great decomposers for any food scraps and decaying plant matter.

Great value live fish food

Ordered 200 copepods from AQUABYTES for our betta fish fry, the fry are 24/7 always busy rummaging through driftwood, rocks and gravel to find these tasty little morsels. With lots of plants and decor, these copepods provide a constant food source for my fish :)
